Mahek Chahal, a 24-year-old Norwegian model of Indian origin, has made a good start in Bollywood with two films in her kitty and some item number offers in the pipeline. Although Mahek comes from a Punjabi family (that migrated to Norway), she considers herself a full-bloodied Norwegian. “Back home, we speak Norwegian, I think in Norwegian, I studied in a Norwegian-medium school,” Mahek told a news agency. That is why Mahek’s linguistic shortcoming became a problem when she was considered for a role in Ajnabee , two years back. However, she was able to get a Telugu movie titled Neetho, but the director had to get her dialogues dubbed.Mahek quickly learned from her shortcomings and joined Kishore Namit’s acting school in Mumbai, which has groomed newcomers Hrithik Roshan and former beauty queens Priyanka Chopra and Dia Mirza .A spruced up Mahek made her Bollywood debut last year with a marginal role in a forgettable flick Nayee Padosan. She also did an item number in Kareena Kapoor starrer Chameli .
